The 2013 January Book of the Month is a recent addition to Special Collections. It is a gift of John McLaughlin, and represents just one item from a very large collection of film and television books, scripts, movie posters, and realia. The book falls into the genre of movie books. These types of books were often reprinted and published to correspond with the release of a motion picture. The book jackets would often have actors or scenes from the movies on the covers, and the books would be illustrated with numerous photographs. In this example, the book jacket has a colored illustration of Bette Davis on the cover.
