Since 2023, Binghamton University Libraries has signed transformative agreements (also known as “open access” or “read-and-publish”) with nine journal publishers. Now, our researchers are able to publish their research open access in over 5,500 premier academic journals without having to worry about paying Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Publishing research open access often leads to increased readership and citations, amplifying Binghamton’s research impact domestically and internationally. To date, ~300 Binghamton-authored articles have been published open access across these journals, representing an added value of ~$1 million in APC cost avoidances.

To help our researchers search across all journals that are supported in this way, Binghamton University Libraries is happy to announce a new tool that aggregates all of this information into a single portal. To search for a journal you want to publish in, please visit our transformative agreement guide and try out the newly added search bar!
