Neyda Gilman honored with Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship

Congratulations to Neyda Gilma for her selection to receive the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship!

Gilman was praised for numerous accomplishments, including excellent instructional support and collection development for the health sciences; exemplary service at the local, regional and national level; her extraordinary work on sustainability for the Libraries, campus and local community; and more. One nomination letter stated that Gilman “demonstrates great passion and dedication in terms of her service to the University and to the profession.” She was enthusiastically supported for the award by library colleagues, students and faculty. 

This award recognizes consistently superior professional achievement in the field of librarianship. To receive this distinction, candidates must demonstrate extraordinary performance in the areas of skill in librarianship, service to the University and to the profession, and scholarship and continuing professional growth. 

Neyda serves as our Assistant Head, Sustainability and STEM Engagement as well as our Health Sciences Librarian.
