Dean of Libraries Andrea Falcone is pleased to announce the appointment of Jesse Koennecke as Senior Assistant Dean for Collections and Technology Services beginning Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Having recently served as Director of Acquisitions and E-Resource Licensing Services at Cornell University Library, Koennecke led strategic initiatives in managing physical and electronic resources, negotiated publisher agreements and advanced library technologies to enhance user experience and staff workflows.
“The Libraries are thrilled to welcome Jesse Koennecke to the Libraries leadership team,” said Falcone. “Jesse will bring invaluable knowledge to strengthen and expand our research collections and related services. We look forward to his continued contributions to academic libraries and his commitment to providing quality resources to the Binghamton community.”
A local to Upstate New York, Koennecke holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Cornell University and a Master of Library Science from Syracuse University. His research interests include research analytics,electronic resource management, and library technology. Additional professional interests include resource licensing, negotiation strategy and organizational collaboration.
