Her latest book is Italian Women in Black Dresses. Maria is co-editor of three anthologies published by Penguin\/Putnam: Unsettling America, Identity Lessons, and Growing up Ethnic in America. She directs the Poetry Center at Passaic Community College in Paterson, NJ; and is Director of the Creative Writing Program, Binghamton-State University of New York.
