Photo by Jonathan Cohen.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.binghamton.edu\/news\/story\/3316\/audubon-book-acquisition-exhibit-and-talk\">Read more about the acquisition of this set in BingUNews<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Birds of America<\/em> volumes, along with other examples of ornithological material in Special Collections, will be on display beginning Friday, November 12 as part of a new exhibition, &#8220;(Re)presenting the Birds of America.&#8221; We will host an open house in Special Collections on Friday from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., which will be followed by Professor Anne B. Clark&#8217;s talk &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/libcal.binghamton.edu\/calendar\/6161\/science?k=11010c9cf0768bc28a4c273b32bcc508\">The Science in Scientific Collecting<\/a>.&#8221; Dr. Clark&#8217;s talk will be held in the Zurack Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Monday, November 15 through Friday, December 17, the Special Collections exhibit will be open for walk-in visits during our regular hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are very pleased to announce the recent acquisition of the 1859 third octavo edition of John James Audubon&#8217;s Birds of America.
