Photograph by Beth Turcy Kilmarx.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Two student-curated exhibits at the Binghamton University Art Museum feature materials from the Binghamton University Libraries&#8217; Special Collections.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibits are:<\/p>\n<p><em>The Civil War: Images of Ruin<\/em>, curated by graduate students from the Departments of History and Art History, which includes several issues of <em>Harper&#8217;s Weekly <\/em>held by Special Collections\u00a0from the years 1862, 1863 &amp; 1865. These issues include images taken by\u00a0Mathew B. Brady an\u00a0American photographer best known for his scenes of the\u00a0Civil War. Brady&#8217;s use of a mobile studio and darkroom enabled vivid battlefield photographs that brought home the reality of war to the public.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Multi-Modernist Tilly Losch: Dancer, Actress &amp; Artist<\/em>,\u00a0Curated by Kara Lynn Nandin &#8217;15, which features\u00a0several portrait photographs of Tilly Losch that are held in Special Collections, including one by American visual artist, Man Ray, and a photograph \u00a0taken by the noted\u00a0Austrian-born American photographer,\u00a0Trude Fleischmann.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.binghamton.edu\/art-museum\/exhibitions\/current-exhibitions\/index.html\">Find more information here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two student-curated exhibits at the Binghamton University Art Museum feature materials from the Binghamton University Libraries&#8217; Special Collections.
