Showing no challenge is insurmountable, Bold.Brilliant.Binghamton — The Campaign for Binghamton University raised $101.22 million to enhance educational opportunities for students, foster innovative research by faculty and strengthen the University for years to come, President Harvey Stenger announced July 19.

Bold.Brilliant.Binghamton met its initial $95 million goal, then set the bar higher at $100 million. More than 30,000 donors answered the call for support, successfully pushing the campaign past its new goal.

“It was a risk we took. It was the right risk,” Stenger told the crowd of University leaders and other campaign supporters who gathered in the lobby of the Couper Administration Building to hear the grand total and celebrate the campaign’s success.

Stenger said Bold.Brilliant.Binghamton, which ended June 30, will have a positive impact on all areas of the University:
• $45.28 million was raised for student excellence, including scholarships and fellowships.
• $45.56 million was raised for faculty and academic excellence, such as adding faculty and providing faculty awards for academic achievement.
• $10.38 million was directed to The Binghamton Fund, which supplies discretionary support for the University’s greatest needs.
