In early January 2025, EBSCOhost, the platform for many of the Libraries’ subscription databases (list below) will be updated with a new user interface.
New Features
The updated interface will provide access to the same content with a simpler, more intuitive design, and will include new features such as:
- Personalized dashboards
- New ways to share and save resources
- Intuitive limiters and facets
- Improved translation and text-to-speech features
- Responsive design for access on more devices
- Enhanced accessibility standards
For more information about the new interface, see a preview of the new EBSCOhost interface or the New EBSCOhost Interface – Quick Start Guide.
Changes to Custom Folders
IMPORTANT: If you use custom folders, you will need to move or download saved items in your custom or shared folders to your My Folder. Any items saved to custom or shared folders will not be migrated as there is no custom folder option in the new interface. If you are a MyEBSCO folder user, your My Folder will transition to the new user interface.
See steps for moving custom folders to My Folder below.

Moving Custom Folders
Steps to move your Custom Folders to My Folder:
- Go to the Ebsco Database (ie Academic Search Ultimate)
- Once logged in, select the Folder icon in the top right corner.
- From there, scroll down until you see your custom folder in the left portion of the screen. Select the folder you would like to access to expand it. Then select Articles.
- Once you have accessed the articles in your custom folder, select the Select/deselect all box. Then select the Copy To button and choose My Folder.
Now your items will be copied to your general folder so when the interface changes, these items will transfer to your upgraded account, and you will not lose them.
For help with moving custom folder content to My folder, please contact the Libraries’ Research Help Desk.
