Renowned Indian Classical Musician to Perform

Internationally acclaimed sarod player Rajeev Taranath will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall. Joining Taranath on tabla for the performance will be acclaimed percussionist Nitin Mitta. Taranath plays the sarod, a lyrical, deeply resonant relative of the lute, and is considered one of India’s top classical instrumentalists whose performances combine the depth and rigor of traditional Hindustani classical music with inspired imagination and emotional intensity.
