Benefit Concert Features Dance-Drumming Ensemble

Master drummer Kwadzo Tagborlo from Ghana is in residence at Binghamton University from Oct. 7-22, and there will be a benefit concert to help pay for his travel expenses featuring Binghamton University’s Nukporfe Dance-Drumming Ensemble at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Africa House, 50 Washington Ave., Endicott. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. Tagborlo, chief drummer and artistic director for the Dzigbordi Cultural Group, one of the most recognized groups in Eweland, has devoted his life to performing and teaching African music and dance. In 1995, his family hosted the Binghamton Assistant Professor James Burns, who lived with them for several years.
