The director of the month for March is Federico Fellini. Born in 1920 in Rimini, Italy, Fellini began a long string of influential films in the 1950s. He, along with directors Rossellini, De Sica, and Visconti, is considered one of the founders of the Italian Neorealist movement. He won 4 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film (for La Strada, Nights of Cabiria, 8 1/2, and Amarcord), as well as an Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award, presented in 1992.
