As reported in Inside Binghamton University (November 29, 2007), Distinguished Professor of Africana Studies Isidore Okpewho was the guest editor of a special issue of Research in African Literatures (Vol. 38, no. 3, Fall 2007). This issue on African oral literatures draws from papers presented at the 5th conference of the International Society for Oral Literature in Africa (ISOLA) in Gambia.
There are several ways to access the online content of this special issue from the library website. One way is to start from metaLINK, then click on “Find e-journal” near the top of the page. Then enter “Research in African Literature” in the search box under “Find E-journals by Title or ISSN.” Click on the link for Academic Search Premier, which has an easy-to-use database interface. Under the heading “All Issues” on the right hand side, click on 2007, then follow the link for Vol. 38, Issue 3 – Fall 2007. From there you can read articles (available in PDF) from the special issue, including Professor Okpewho’s “Introduction” (p. vii-xxi).
