Welcome back, Digital Scholars. We hope you had a wonderful summer. Our team had a busy summer planning for the future of Digital Scholarship at Binghamton. It is going to be an exciting year!
A Sneak Peak into 2025
When you first come on campus this semester, you may notice that all the scaffolding around Bartle Library is down. Construction on the third floor is finishing up after several years of careful renovations. There is still a lot to happen before it is open, but when it does, so will the new Digital Scholarship Center space. Compared to our current pilot center, the future space will be much bigger with built-in technology and flexible furniture. Throughout the third floor, there will be designated spaces for large group instruction, events and one-on-one consultations. The DS Team is tentatively planning to move our operations there starting in the spring semester. More to come on this exciting project!
Events
To open the semester, the DS Team will be hosting a lunch social along with our digital humanities community members to connect digital scholars across campus. Feast with us from noon – 2 p.m. Friday, September 6 in the pilot Digital Scholarship Center (SL-209). Bring your Digital Scholarship ideas, questions and appetite! Register or walk in.
